The findings of the research were analysed and presented in form of discussion tables. It was found that funds play a crucial role in project performance. The study also emphasised the importance of competent staff as well as organisational culture on the performance of projects. The communication channel, reward system, managerial skills and the project design were also found to be very important factors in project performance. Project performance at National Water and Sewerage Corporation faces numerous challenges. The study highlighted insufficient communication, lack of employee motivation and commitment, inadequate resources, poor leadership, disconnect between planning and implementation, and resistance to change as some of the challenges to project performance. The study proposes hiring competent staff, using effective communication channels, creating a monitoring and evaluation tool and prudential financial management as some of the strategies to overcome the challenges of project performance.
