dc.description.abstractThe study set out to investigate the relationship between stakeholder participation, commitment and project performance in road construction projects in Mbale district. As such, it was guided by the following objectives; to investigate the relationship between stakeholder participation and commitment, to determine the relationship between commitment and project performance, and to establish the relationship between stakeholder participation and project performance. A cross sectional, Descriptive and analytical research design was used, and a sample of 84 technical and Political respondents was selected from Mbale District. The research instrument used was a self-administered questionnaire which sought responses from political heads and technical personnel selected purposively as the unit of inquiry, and the resulting data was sorted, edited, and coded using MS Access 2016, then analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics 22. Our results showed significant positive inter-correlations between the variables, and in addition, the multiple regression test indicate a joint positive impact of 60.7 percent by all the independent variables on project performance in road construction projects in Mbale district. It was concluded basing on the findings that, stakeholder participation and commitment have a significant relationship with project performance of road construction projects. And that government should direct a greater part of their resources to enhancing stakeholder participation and commitment in order to improve Performance of road construction projects.en_US
