dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between exploitation learning,
exploration learning, organization alignment, and organizational learning and project
performance of various projects in Adjumani district of Uganda. The study adopted a cross
sectional survey designs, were descriptive and quantitative data was used and 150 project
managers and supervisors at different levels were sampled. The study focused on the various
projects as population and the results revealed;
a) a non-significant negative relationship between exploitation and project performance.
b) a non-significant negative relationship between exploration and project performance.
c) a more significant positive relationship between organizational alignment and project
performance.
d) a significant positive relationship between organizational learning and project performance.
It is recommended for project managers to use organizational learning and organizational
alignment in order to create a situation conducive for project management, considering their
synergistic contribution. It is also recommended for government, donors and other project
stakeholders to undertake awareness campaigns to encourage active participation of
stakeholders. Further it is recommended that project beneficiaries be trained in different areas
related to new dynamics in the project environment.
It is concluded that there exists a positive relationship between factors that promote
organizational learning, organizational alignment and project performance. Hence they
contribute positively towards project performance. From this conclusion it would be
interesting to carry out further research in different sectors in Uganda to ascertain the
relationship between organizational learning and organizational alignment and to investigate unsuccessful link between exploitation, exploration and project performance. | en_US |
